Who is responsible?

What data is stored

Your messages including the time, so that our chat works and you can continue it later.
A random chat ID, which is used to reopen your chat. You don’t need an account.
Your email address – only if you provide it voluntarily in order to be notified about my reply.
A push subscription – only if you allow phone notifications.
Photos you send me – only possible if your connection comes from the USA. They are re-saved on our server and stripped of location and device data, are visible only to you and Heidi, and are deleted together with your chat.
With “Continue with Google” I only receive your email address from Google. The Google sign-in is only loaded when you tap it.
Spam protection: When you send a message for the first time, the page loads a short check from Cloudflare Turnstile. In doing so, Cloudflare processes technical details of your browser in order to detect automated requests. None of this is loaded beforehand.
Remembering the chat on this device: So that you can find your way back to our chat at any time, your browser stores a random chat ID (in local storage and in a cookie “hh_conv”, 1 year, only for helloheidi.me). It is used only to reopen your chat – no tracking. You can delete it in your browser at any time.
Simple visitor statistics on my own server: how long and which areas of this page are viewed – without IP address, without third parties, deleted after 180 days.
Whether my notifications arrive: If you have allowed phone notifications, your device reports to my own server when a notification arrived and whether you tapped it; the page counts whether you viewed the chat afterwards. Stored only in relation to this notification in your chat, without IP address, deleted after 180 days.
“Interests & visits” – only with your consent (in the “Your profile” window): which content you play here (video, voice messages), which offers and links you tap (for links, only the name of the website) and when you come back. Only for me, stored for 30 days. Without consent, none of this is recorded; if you withdraw it, everything recorded is deleted immediately.

What for

To reply to you and to let you know when a new message is waiting for you – and, if you have turned on email or phone notifications, occasionally for messages from me. You can unsubscribe at any time (link in every email, notifications in your device’s settings). Your data is not sold and not used for advertising. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser merely remembers whether you chose the light or dark view.

Where and for how long

Your data is stored on servers in Europe. It remains stored until you request its deletion – a short email to info@heidibauerllc.com is all it takes.

Your rights

You can request information about your stored data at any time, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw any consent you have given (email, notifications). Just write to info@heidibauerllc.com. You can also turn off notifications at any time in the settings of your phone or browser. In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
